KCDC Garden Resources
Project Description
Designed to be part of a resource pack for teachers, this calendar is an opportunity to provide information and teaching material to primary school teachers which they can use as part of their day to day curriculum. The calendar focuses on smart gardening that reduces water use.
The Objective:
Create an eye-catching calendar that appeals to the broad age of primary school children with a multi-purpose format for teacher flexibility.
The Solution:
The calendar format was designed as a large A2 poster with the ability to display at a quarter of it's size, A4. Due to often limited classroom wall space, teachers can choose to stick the posters on the wall at the size they prefer i.e. display all seasons, two seasons, or just one season. The calendar is also available digitally.
Colours and illustrative imagery highlight each season, whilst the four illustrative panels connect each season with a school term:
- Term1: Summer/Autumn
- Term 2: Winter
- Term 3: Spring
- Term 4: Summer
The illustrations (in collaboration with Scott Irvine) have been designed with maturity, capturing a fun and engaging educational gardening message.
